Luchars is Stonebridge Cos. new senior advisor

Jim Luchars is the new senior advisor for Denver-based Stonebridge Cos. Previously, he was chief investment officer for the company, led by Aly-khan Merali as president and managing partner and founder and CEO Navin Dimond.

Prior to joining Stonebridge, Luchars served as a principal with AEW Capital Management, leading the firm’s hospitality group. Prior to that he was senior consultant with the Ernst & Young Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group in New York City.


As chief investment officer, he oversaw acquisition and development growth initiatives for Stonebridge. He will continue to serve in that role until the company finds a replacement.

“Serving as part of the senior management team has been my great pleasure,” Luchars said. “I’m especially thankful to Navin and the entire team for their support and tireless work ethic, which makes moving into an advisory role all the more seamless. I look forward to continuing the good work of the company’s talented team members and assisting in the search for a replacement who is focused on our company’s continued growth and success.”

Dimond said he was grateful for Luchars’ leadership and service.

“Jim is an integral part of the Stonebridge family and I very much look forward to his elevated role as a senior advisor for the company,” Dimond said.

Dimond founded the company in 1991. Merali joined as president and managing partner in January. Stonebridge’s portfolio includes 60 select-service, extended-stay, mid-scale and full-service hotels in markets throughout the U.S.
