Knowland hosting COVID-19 webinar

Topics include business stabilization, preparing for the rebound and the ‘new normal’

HOSPITALITY ANALYTICS FIRM Knowland will hold a webinar series on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the industry beginning next week. Themes include business stabilization, preparing for the economic rebound and the “new normal” of events and meetings.

Hosts for the new series include Kristi White, Knowland’s vice president of product; Kristin House, senior vice president at ConferenceDirect; and Allison Ahrens, president of Hospitality Revenue Solutions LLC. The scheduled webinars, each to begin at 1 a.m. ET, are:


  • April 28 - Part 1: Perspectives on Taking Action Today to Stabilize and Protect Your Business
  • May 5 - Part 2: Perspectives on Positioning for Rebound
  • May 12 - Part 3: Perspectives on the Future New Normal of Events and Meetings

Attendees at a previous Knowland webinar in March revealed in a survey that they were optimistic that they would survive the downturn with their businesses intact.

Industry leaders call on Congress to support AFA

THE INTERNATIONAL FRANCHISE Association led a coalition of more than 100 business, advocacy and diversity groups urging Congress to support the bipartisan American Franchise Act, H.R. 5267. Industry groups, including AAHOA, the American Hotel & Lodging Association and the U.S. Travel Association, signed the IFA-coordinated letter in support of the legislation.

The letter states that the AFA provides a clear approach to the joint-employer issue, which has left small businesses, including franchises, in uncertainty for a decade. The signers include 72 state associations and 33 national organizations, including franchisee groups.
